"Gothic… hidden… behind the veneer of virtue." (Edgar Allan Poe)

Gothic Consequences starts in -3800 days, -19 hours and -32 minutes!

M*A*S*H: Brothers in Arms

The year is 1953, Dolores Day rides high in the Box Office, Nate King Cole croons his way onto the radio. And American GIs plus international forces are fighting the gooks in Korea.

In the 3066th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, set back from the front, moments of terror are interspersed with days of boredom waiting for the wounded troops to arrive. Young people with a great deal of time on their hands keep themselves occupied via practical jokes, silly rivalries and blooming romances. But underneath is a serious side - there is a war on. Laughing in the face of death is essential because without a taste for gallow's humour maybe nobody will make it home at all...

Information for Players:Just to emphasise there are some dark themes underlying parts of this game that may poke people's buttons, but there will be warnings on the casting questionnaire. These themes revolve around death, abandonment, madness and other consequences of a theatre of war and a hospital with its attendant tragedies. There are also two characters who have a significantly larger amount of material to read before game start, but again, you may specify in the casting questionnaire whether you would be willing to read extra material or not. It will be provided at least two weeks in advance.

Barnard, Nickey

Played my first freeform 16 years ago and have been writing them ever since the Peaky writing weekend first began, which was... a while ago now. I like a nice solid traditional freeform but my fellow writers keep making me experiment against my will - they're tricksy like that :) I am neither fish nor fowl nor good red herring, but I do know that Vikings go with everything!

Curd, Natalie

This is only my second Consequences and if you had told me last year I'd be returning as a GM I wouldn't have believed you. I'm coming to the end of my first year in the freeform/larping community, it's been a really enjoyable time and I have been honestly touched by how welcome everyone has made me feel. I have made lots of great friends too. Jointly writing M*A*S*H Brothers in Arms was my first attempt at writing a game and I thoroughly loved every minute of it. Peaky was a fantastic experience. I am so excited to see how the players take to the characters we have written and bring them alive. I am also really looking forward to playing in all the games I have signed up for and catching up with some great people.
