System: Hot War
London 1963 , In the Aftermath of Weird War One.

They used to say that the streets of London were paved with gold, now they are littered only with death; the greatest city on Earth reduced to little more then a massive charnal house by the horrors of the First Weird War.

It was a miracle that the city was saved from the Soviet nuclear weapons that destroyed so much of the country; that it should survive what was to follow defies imagination almost as much as the events themselves.

One by one black pools spread across the sky, like spots of ink dropped into a bowl of clear water; and from the darkness came things made of nightmare, inhuman creatures of tooth and claw and beak, of eyes, and wings, and tentacles. Hell had been raised on Earth, and it was hungry!

Now 12 months later and the surviving dregs of humanity are starting to look to the future - a fraction of the UK's population seeking to rebuild some kind of civilization from London's broken ruins.

Yet while the monsters still lurk in the sickly pale smog that clings to the rain drenched streets, and continue to prowl the night, can London ever be more then a shelter in which to hide? The solution to this? The formation by the Goverment of the Special Situations Group.

Welcome to the Special Situations Group - a unit of both civilian and military personnel whose primary goal is to root out monsters wherever they may dwell, although not every one goes bump in the night.

As a member of the SSG you may me asked to deal with other matters of state such as dealing with terrorists, traitors, and insurgents.

Can you tell friend from foe?
